INTA Leadership Meeting and APAA 2026

SKC Law at the INTA Leadership Meeting and APAA 2026

November brings two key gatherings for the international IP community, and SKC Law will be represented at both. We use these meetings to learn from the counsel and brand owners we work alongside, and to share developments in Indonesian IP practice.

Co-Founder Andrew Conduit will attend the International Trademark Association (INTA) Leadership Meeting in Phoenix. Partner Bagus Lestanto and Senior Asscociate Krishna Dibyatara will then attend the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) 2026 meeting in Hong Kong.

INTA Leadership Meeting, Phoenix

INTA will hold its 2026 Leadership Meeting from 17 to 20 November in Phoenix, Arizona. Unlike the Annual Meeting, the Leadership Meeting is invitation-only. It brings together more than 1,500 of INTA’s volunteer leaders, such as committee members, board members, and government IP office representatives.

Alongside committee work, this year’s general sessions cover:

  • enforcement against lookalike products
  • managing IP portfolios amid trade restrictions and sanctions
  • AI clauses in commercial contracts
  • China’s trademark law revision

The meeting follows our attendance at the INTA 2026 Annual Meeting in London in May.

APAA 2026, Hong Kong

APAA will hold its 2026 meeting in Hong Kong from 29 November to 2 December. The meeting brings together patent and trademark attorneys, in-house counsel, and other IP professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region. The programme combines committee meetings, academic sessions, and roundtables with networking events.

Hong Kong is a natural meeting point for practitioners working across China, Southeast Asia, and the wider region. APAA lets our team compare prosecution and enforcement practice with counsel from neighbouring jurisdictions.

Indonesia’s IP Developments on the Agenda

Both meetings follow a busy year for Indonesian IP law. Topics our team will be ready to discuss include:

  • The new trademark regulation and changes introduced to registration procedures
  • Patents Regulation 6/2026, which expands the scope of protected inventions and introduces early examination
  • Indonesia remaining on the USTR Special 301 Priority Watch List and its implications for enforcement

Meet Our Team in Phoenix or Hong Kong

If you will be attending either meeting, we would be glad to meet. Contact us to arrange a meeting or to discuss any aspect of intellectual property services in Indonesia: enquiries@skclaw.id
